What is the emuControlCenter
The emuControlCenter is an application to manage games (also known as roms) of many different retro and nextgen computer, console and arcade platforms. emuControlCenter is an startcenter for your games/roms. You can easily start games/roms of your collections in an assigned emulator with only one double-click.

Easy and intuitive!
emuControlCenter is build for people who want’s to play games quick ‘n’ easy, without searching to much, ECC supports images and previews them directy in the ‘Resultview’. Also there is a ‘ImageCenter’ build-in for a fullsize preview!

Advanced DATfile format
The emuControlCenter datfiles are containing informations about languages, state of the rom, developer and more. This informations could easly transfered via ecc-datfiles (plain text files, .csv / .xls (experimental))

ROMdb - internet database integration
With emuControlCenter, you can directly add roms to the internet database, called ‘ecc-romdb’. In the next releases, you can get these informations back in ‘live’ mode from the internet, into your emuControlCenter-installation without any datfile!

Theme support
It’s possible to costumize how your ECC looks!, by giving it a Gtk+ 2.0 theme. Also, an simple theme system is integrated to change the look and feel of emuControlCenter!

Translatable
ECC is translatable, so you can choose your desired language, is your language not yet supported?, please register to the forum we’ll help you further! By now, emuControlCenter is translated to english, german, french, dutch and japanese (jp not full supported now!)

Live! updates
With ECC Live! you can update ECC to the most recent version, these updates include fixes/updates/additions.

ZIP-Support
emuControlCenter can get the checksums directly without unpacking compressed files (ZIP). It’s also possible to parse one or more ROMs from a single ZIP-File!

The history of emuControlCenter

Mainly, i´ve began developing emuControlCenter, because i never found an program managing roms and emulators for many platforms containing a list preview like in the great NeoGeo emulator NeoRageX!

The first versions, started in late of november 2005 was developed in python, a very strange language (sorry python guys! :-)) Later, the php-gtk2 project released an version stable enought to try it. This is an php binding for the gtk2 libaries (also known as gtk+) Because i´m a programmer in an internet company, i´ve give it a try.

phoenix, the leader of the eccTools and support team, also webmaster of the emuControlCenter support forum joined the emuControlCenter dev team in 2006. He has created many tools like the ecc start tool, the eccLive! online autoupdater and many more. Also he tries to find all bugs in ecc (hm, i think… he found nearly all :-)) Thank you for you great work!
